You can configure your StarFighter with the keyboards listed. All Linux distributions we offer pre-installed will prompt you to select your input language the first time you turn it on. You can also change this in the future from the Settings window.

Your StarFighter will come with a 3.20GHz 8-core AMD Ryzen™ 7 7840HS / Boost clock up to 5.10GHz by default. You can upgrade to a 2.60GHz 14-core Intel® Core® i9-13900H / Turbo Boost up to 5.40GHz. The processor is on-board, so you will not be able to upgrade it at a later date.
Storage
512GB SSD
Your StarFighter will come with 512GB Gen4 PCIe SSD storage by default, which features a sequential read speed of up to 7000MB/s. Over-provisioning increases performance and IOPS (Input/Output Operations per Second) whilst enhancing reliability and endurance. You can configure it with 4TB Gen4 PCIe SSD storage, giving you more storage capacity and increased performance with sequential read speeds up to 7000MB/s. You can upgrade or replace the SSD; this requires a small Philips screwdriver.
Operating System
Ubuntu LTS 24.04
The StarFighter is built specifically for Linux. You can choose from a selection of pre-installed distributions, including Ubuntu, elementary OS, Linux Mint, Manjaro and Zorin OS. If you prefer something else, you can choose to have no operating system installed. You can easily change the installed Linux distribution using a USB flash drive.

Firmware
American Megatrends
Your StarFighter will support American Megatrends (AMI) Aptio V and coreboot firmware. Comparing AMI Aptio V to coreboot; it is closed-source and has many features, including Secure Boot and capsule updates. coreboot is open-source and very lightweight, allowing faster boot time and less power consumption. By default, the Intel ME is disabled on both coreboot and AMI. You can can switch between AMI and coreboot firmware anytime, as often as you want. Please note - the coreboot firmware for AMD processors is currently in development. It is likely to be ready by dispatch, but it might not be. Should that happen, we will send your StarFighter with AMI firmware, and you can install coreboot from the LVFS once it is available.
