All Linux distributions we offer pre-installed will prompt you to select your input language the first time you turn it on. You can also change this in the future from the Settings window.

Your Privacy StarBook will come with 1TB by default.

You can configure it with 4TB, giving you more storage capacity and faster performance.

All storage options for this model support built-in disk encryption.

This uses a self-encrypting drive standard, allowing encryption to be handled by the SSD itself rather than only in software.

One practical advantage is that you can secure your data without needing to reinstall the operating system.

For most users, that means better storage-security options. For organisations, it also improves compatibility with enterprise deployment and device-management workflows.

You can upgrade or replace the SSD; this requires a small Philips screwdriver.
